MIA

Please excuse our absence. We were caught up celebrating life, living for our future, and busy giving thanks.

Celebrating unity is beautiful. And we did just that by witnessing the commitment of love through two of our own, the newly wed Mr. and Mrs. B. Fort.

Though you may think we were missing in action we were engaged in being thankful for our everyday.

Spending time with friends and family and continuing to build relationships. We appreciate your patience and loyalty.

And a Brownie for Dessert

Our creative directors, husband and wife, run a monthly open mic and poetry showcase called the Bakery Poetry Lounge in North Hollywood, Ca. After one of the events Mr. Bakery unofficially met a homeless man laying asleep in front of a Carls Jr. He slept as comfortable as he could with shoes for pillows and a jacket for a blanket. Next to this man was an empty can of Hormel beans, which was obviously dinner. This situation was unfortunate and for some reason seeing this man sound asleep on the floor, uncomfortably comfortable, tugged at some heart strings. The show left a portion of the baked good unsold, allowing Mr. Bakery to give him a left over brownie. Because the man was well into his sleep, without waking him Mr. Bakery placed the brownie beside him, next to the can of beans, prayed and wished him well. It’s often wondered how he received the brownie and if he did enjoy it, we hope it was with a smile.

It will include a spa certificate, body scrub, an ItWorks wrap session, and of course, Imagination Kingdom greeting cards. A bundle worth over $200! All you have to do is post a photo of your mother to our Facebook fan page with why you believe she deserves to be gifted. A winner will be selected at the end of the month.

So, there’s seven of us. A mother, her three sons, and their wives. Each an artist in our own trade and catering to our individual audiences through a range of mediums. As a collective, our accomplishments have driven us to strive for success in the greeting card industry. Our vision, from every one of our artistic and calculated angles, is clear. Every act of giving creates an occasion.

Bottles & Cans

Image

He wakes at 11:20 PM. Groggy, hungry, and almost late for work, he speeds through his midnight routine to hit the freeway in time to clock in for his graveyard shift. It is a slow night at this 24 hour copy and print retail store. He is displeased with this job, to say the least. For he, the overnight guy, is responsible for picking up all the slack of the day shift employees before the store seemingly opens at 7:00 AM. The out-dated machines are failing, orders aren’t legible, and the few customers coming in interrupt concentration.

Once calmed, the electronic doors open and he reluctantly looks up to find no one. Doors close. Doors open, again. Close once more. Still no one. Opening again with no body in sight, he investigates to find Whitey, an unhoused wanderer who instantly and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience he brought upon the storefront while rifling through the outside garbage can searching for recyclables.

Returning to his station, still trying to decipher orders, he is distracted with the realization that there is an overflow of bottles and cans in the break room. He rushes to collect all he can and handed Whitey enough recyclables to put a meal in his growling belly and change in his yearning pocket.

Whitey’s gratefulness ended all the negative vibes carried into work that night and left him energized for the rest of his shift. In thanks, Whitey insisted on praying with him, praising the heavens for the blessing of B. Fort.

You never know what giving may bring.

Lesson relearned.

Let yourself give and receive this week.

Making a Habit of Persistence

Image

Imagination Kingdom is taking it back to basics with people in mind. We are here to amplify the act of gift giving; no technology involved. Helping to create the perfect moment to share a meaningful gesture with the right words.

This year is about establishing ourselves in the greeting card industry by being persistent in achieving our goals so we can have a better year. So that this year, we will give more than we did in the last. We know it’s not going to be easy, for without struggle there is no progress.

We will continue to be students of our industry by studying and doing the necessary research to be well versed in our craft, while creating our own path.

Pause. Rewind.

Be a little more persistent this week. See how good it feels.

Imagining the Journey

Imagining the Journey

Saturday night blessed Imagination Kingdom by allowing us to witness the epitome of the movement we are creating. The Chocolate and Art Show at KGB Studios in the unseasoned industrial area of crisp Downtown Los Angeles granted the bloom of this moment. While watching bold-hearted art lovers devour every chocolate drenched snack generously provided by the venue, we sold close to 50 greeting cards during our two day vending opportunity. It was our very last customer who unequivocally fulfilled our weekend.

She stood in front of our table, soaking in the sentiment of our current life work, and couldn’t resist sharing how seemingly obsolete sending greeting cards are in this day and age. She then laced her opinion with encouragement, emphasizing to keep our product alive and “in the mix”. She appealingly fiddled with the ribbon of the bow, held the product with one hand, to then pass it to the other, allowing herself a complete experience. She smiled and repeated her initial encouragement, placed the packaged set of cards back on the table, and walked towards our neighboring vendor. We inhaled. Began to process the truth and excitement she exuded, but not before we saw her race back to us with such intention. She decided to make a purchase. She paused. Then rewound. We exhaled. It was a true vision to witness her imagining the journey of giving an Imagination Kingdom greeting card.

With Gratitude

Image

Science has proven that focusing on people to whom you are grateful has more of an impact than focusing on things for which you are grateful. Imagination Kingdom is here, devoting our combined knowledge, experience, and passion to translate thoughts of thanks and appreciation into concrete language for you to create meaning in your relationships. Our objective is to value the quality and depths of being grateful. For you to present gratitude with grace and style, elegance and purpose.

We are thankful for where we are in this moment; grateful for what we as a collective have accomplished.

We crave to make your gift giving unforgettable.

Happy thanksgiving.

P.S.
Imagination Kingdom will be at the Chocolate and Art Show located at the KGB Gallery in Los Angeles (1640 North Spring Street) this Friday and Saturday, April 11th-12th from 7pm to 2am. Come hang out, see what we are all about, and enjoy a night out!

Humble Beginnings

Image

So, let’s be honest. Starting something new takes courage; right? Courage to make serious decisions in unfamiliar commitments. Courage in believing every step taken is for the benefit of the next decision we are faced to make.

Sometimes cueing your backbone takes muscle.

After receiving our first batch of greeting cards, we bent the pre-creased folds of every card, braced each one with a chocolate linen envelope, tactfully packaged, and tied bows with intention to drape our statement with a, yes, rich chocolate colored ribbon. I’m telling you, we are working together and hard for these details to mean just as much to you and our clients as they do for us.

We experienced our first vending opportunity on the UC Irvine campus for the Dancer In Me Worship & Arts Conference last weekend. We mingled. We spieled. We gained incredible on the spot feedback regarding the clarity of our message, which heightens our hunger to continue this pursuit while allowing our combined determination to lead our quest. We sold enough box sets to break even in our costs, which truly feels like a blessing we weren’t expecting to surface just yet. Thankful, nonetheless. We are keeping steady progress it seems, so we feel we must be on a favored path.

You see, we have sworn to be faithful to each other, our brand, and our clients. We make sure our production is thorough and pure so our efforts remain wholehearted.

There is courage in our stride.

Have a beautiful, new week.

CEO Excitement

CEO Excitement

Good Morning,

Last week we received our very first assortment of Imagination Kingdom greeting cards. The excitement in realizing dreams do come to fruition has lingered throughout the hectic week and into today’s post!

CEO and artist of Imagination Kingdom, B. Fort, says, “It was just mere months ago the idea of putting my art on a greeting card was taken as a serious notion.” As he works the overnight shift, taking online art classes, coaching high school sports, all while nurturing his woman with love, he has composed us into phenomenal partners and hence, a family company has taken shape. He reflects a sense of gratitude in us, his team, his family. But not before we face honest trials of compromise and cooperation; “During late night disagreements of sentence structure, proper tenses, and color schemes, opportunities arose. Now, a machine is in place that will allow us to give freely of ourselves.”

Our mission is to facilitate and enhance relationship building, while, for generations, provide a memorable greeting card experience by cultivating daily valuable connections. We want every one of your days to be special. We encourage the effort in being recognized. Because who wouldn’t enjoy receiving a greeting card saying “thank you for always smiling when I see you”? Whether it is someone dear to you, a co-worker, or a familiar stranger, a simple thanks is a gesture we believe must become necessary. We feel appreciation should always be given and intend to ignite opportunities for such customary acknowledgment.

We are blessed to be a family of unique individuals who are capable of coming together in the name of giving, recognition, and appreciation. Although B. Fort sits at the head of the table of this company, he reassures us of our mission regularly by reminding us that the real wealth lies within those who help grow and support the Imagination Kingdom.

Pause. Rewind.

Enjoy your week and thank you, for being you.
